As the 2008 drew to a close, I thought it would be great to look back at the time my team and I spent based out of Maputo, Mozambique.
A Great success, 100% share of shelf in most urban retail. GFK verified market share in excess of 80%. The clear leader at the major GSM operator. 30% market share increment since 2006! I could go on and on, but I am proud about the team we built and the fun we had in building a great business.
One great success we had was localisation of language within the device but more importantly communicating that to the consumer and building the value around warranty.
And then later on bringing services and building the them around IM and messaging.
